Speaker Spotlight – Tara Victoria

Tara Victoria

By trade, Tara Victoria is a graphic designer.  She is the owner and operator of Hatch & Harbour Design Studio located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.  Both personally and professionally, Tara Victoria sees herself as a motivator, routinely encouraging and facilitating positive change in people’s lives or businesses.

Tara’s creative journey has been strongly influenced by realistic and practical concerns, and finding a medium that truly suits her personality and temperament.  Along this path she has embraced the art of painting, photography and now flourishes as a graphic designer.  As a graphic designer, she’s run the gamut from agency, to  freelance/agency mix, and has arrived at her happy place – Hatch & Harbour where she is able to work on her own terms.

Under the umbrella of Hatch and Harbour, Tara works primarily with small businesses, specializing in branding and print media. Tara’s business is guided by her need to be inspired, and to inspire others. She enjoys the process of taking an idea the client has and turning it into a visual reality that embodies their brand.

In addition to Hatch & Harbour, Tara authors a widely-read blog.  Over time, her blog has fluidly evolved from being a place to share thoughts on her life experiences, and things that inspired her, to incorporate an online record of her fitness journey.

Along the way, she encountered entrepreneurs and realized that the fitness industry was lacking in design quality, thus discovering a niche market.  Her blog has now become a space where her two favorite things – fitness and creativity have melded, allowing her to transparently share about her life and work.

Tara shares that she has always been happiest and at peace when surrounded by nature.  She has a special love for the sea and all things nautical.  Hatch & Harbour by name, definition and essence incorporates her love of design and nature.  She hatches designs and brands in an environment that harbors – protects, shelters and encourages – creativity.
