Speaker Spotlight – Zarla Ludin

Zarla Ludin

Zarla Ludin is an applied Anthropologist and Experience Specialist who brings professionalism and passion to her work. She excels at developing study designs to organize teams, align thinking, and build deeper connections with people’s lived realities. She draws from social science source disciplines to describe, interpret, and potentially solve problems for businesses and communities.

Zarla’s early college years were spent at the University of Colorado Boulder gaining both a degree, and experience in Anthropology; and her first ethnographic research was conducted while studying abroad with the Universite’ des Sciences Sociales (Toulouse I).  She then moved to Massachusetts where she currently resides, to pursue a Master’s degree in Human Factors in Information Design (HFID) at Bentley University.

Subsequent to college, Zarla has acquired a background in project management, professional development, and cross-disciplinary mentorship which allows her to grasp complex concepts quickly, ask incisive questions, and help clients reflect on their research needs. She is comfortable collaborating with industrial designers, engineers, and interaction designers in fields ranging from healthcare and finance, to e-commerce in user research studies to improve website design, navigation, and content.  In addition to technical skills, she is also savvy about team and corporate politics.  Currently, as a collaborator at twig+fish, a research and strategy practice based in Boston, Zarla draws on her years of experience working across multiple domains to seek opportunities for meaningful knowledge application and translation.

After hours, Zarla is active in industry related groups. She co-founded and served as the President of HFIDO (the graduate student organization at Bentley), and has functioned as a board member for the Boston UXPA. In her downtime, she is an avid sea glass hunter, takes pleasure in travel, colored pencil sketching, and moonlights as a yoga instructor at the local YMCA.  She also enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and snowshoeing.
